Freemantle, or "Freo" to us locals was on the menu today as planned. Contrary to my brother's comments yesterday, its a fantastic place to visit ! It was a scorching 33 degree day again but it didn't stop us walking the historic streets and the harbour area. Tempted by the displays of speedboats on sale, we managed to see the harbour where 2 days earlier, the massive Queen Mary 2 was docked. The culture vultures in us then went on to visit the Maritime museum and then the infamous Freemantle Prison that convict labour built back in the 1850's (and 43 inmates were hanged over the years). We ended the day at Coogee Beach for a swim and then fish & chips back in Freemantle harbour. Awesome day.
