Art Deco

Last weekend we did our 'culture vulture' thing and went to the National Gallery of Victoria (in Melbourne) to have a look around at the visiting Art Deco exhibition. First stop was lunch at the resturant there (daddy having the smallest Sunday lunch in the world). Here are a few of the pictures - unfortunately you weren't allowed to take any inside. The exhibition was interesting ... if a little rushed with two rugrats running around the place.

Pool Goes In

After a 6 months of planning & waiting ........ the pool has finally arrived and has been installed! See the pictures here. There's obviously still a long way to go with the landscaping & plumbing the pool in but at least its here. Should be full of water this time next week if all goes to plan. Other things happening this week include the solar heating system being installed on the roof, the electrics for the pool being finished and the planters being tiled and filled with soil. Thats if the rain holds (which it hasn't today...) All told there's probably at least 2 more months worth of work to be done on the landscaping.... Should be done by mid Oct just in time for mid spring.

Slow Progress........

We may of been away for 5 weeks but the not-so-rapid progress of our landscapers has been put down to the winter weather (some rain) hampering progress. We do however have a new sandstone patio laid along with the start of the 3 large planter boxes. As you can see from the above photo too, the decking walkway to the pool area has also been done. So far the work is looking really good - its just slow going. There are a few more pics loaded here. The pool install was supposed to happen last week but it now looks like they are turning up on Friday this week. Should be exciting (if too cold to actually use it just yet !).
