Congrats Cadel !!
Today history was made ... and as a proud semi-Aussie I'll help share in the glory ! Yes, today Cadel Evans made history as the first Australian to win the Tour de France. He's been threatening do it for quite a few years now - but this year his luck finally changed and he did it with an amazing time trial on the second last day of the race. Obviously the nation is swelling with pride ! Good on ya mate !

Mornington Beach in Winter
A chilly 10 degrees is not the usual day for a trip to the beach.... but I thought I'd give the boys the "Blyth Beach Summer Holiday" treatment and some fresh air in their lungs. So, with spades, buckets & coats, off we went to Mornington beach on the peninnsular. As you can see from the pics here, the boys spent most of the time in the rock pools picking up starfish and whatever shells they could find. A quick plunge for Maxines trainers in the water as she slipped off a rock ended that (!), so we headed off to a cafe for coffee, milkshakes and cakes. They don't know they're born !

Ethans Eight
Eight seems much older than seven. It certainly seems to be the case in Ethan's mind now too - no more holding hands on the school walk in thats for sure. His eighth birthday proved a difficult one on the presents front too. What do you get an eight year old who's had most of the toys in the world. He's now in that awkward age where some toys are 'lame' but he still wants some toys. The answer appears to still be Lego, but even that is wearing thin. Anyway, he enjoyed all the usual excitement and toy playing - his birthday luckily fell on a school holiday again, so he had the whole day at home. See all the pics here.

Vegimite .... Toast of the Nation
I don't normally promote company products on the blog, but as my company happens to produce a very Australian brand, I thought it was relevant (and amusing).
