More parties & more horses

The mad April & May 'party season' on the street is now behind us, leaving a trail of cakes, sweets and assorted pastries behind us (quite literally in the kids case ........!). The weather is on the turn and today (June 1st) we officially enter winter in Aus. Time to get the winter veggies into the ever expanding patches (more on my Hugh Fernley Whittingstall-esque attempts at a later date). In other news, Maxine, on the back of the success with my mother, enrolled the kids for a riding lesson last weekend. Ethan managed to get into it straight away and was even trotting on the first attempt which was pretty amazing to see. Aidan was somewhat more reticent however but given that his horse was about 3 times his height its not surprising that its a bit terrifying for a 3 year old !
