3 Years in Aus

We're now clocking up the end of our third full year in Australia. Time really does seem to fly.... Only seems like yesterday we were packing up in Warwick and wondering what it would be like. Amazing really. Wonder what the next three years has in store for us!

Anyway, most of the recent activity in the Hawkins household has been revolving around the garden or new things for the house. We had a new fitted office installed (main pic) a couple of weeks ago as we're working from home a bit more now and needed the space. Well thats how we justified it anyway. In other news, the garden/pool progress has once again slowed due to having to wait for a building permit for the pool hut and the stone supplier running out of the sandstone pavers we've ordered. Builders .... who'd have 'em. Supposedly it will all be done by the end of October. Time will tell.

In the next couple of weeks we're attending Ethan's primary school to get ready for his induction. The school year starts in January over here and he'll be 5 1/2 by then - a bit later than he would of started in the UK. We think he's ready now .... itching to learn new things. We also have Darren (Maxine's brother) out here in late October for 3 weeks so we'll be donning the tourist caps again and revisting some of the sights around Melbourne.

Some of the latest pics of the boys & the garden are just here.

Spring has arrived

Well, September is officially the start of Spring so the warmth should be back in the southern hemisphere before much longer. We can start to look forward to 6 or 7 months of good weather and lots of swimming ! The pool area is now really taking shape. The pool is now in, full of water and cleaned up ... just need to get the sun's ray's on the roof and I expect we'll be in it for the start of October. This last weekend the concrete has been poured for the rest of the pavers and now the decking for the 'day bed' is going down. Every day is seeing some progress which is good. It feels like its being going on forever now. Some of the latest pictures are here.
