Christmas 2011

Santa has finally arrived at the Hawkins household on a humid and thundery Christmas day. Did all the traditional stuff (a.k.a. 12 hours of Lego building) interspersed with eating (lots) and other toy construction. Aidy Graduates

We have another new graduate in the family with our 5 year old steering himself out of Kinder and into Primary.  There was plenty of sobbing from his teachers as he confidently bid farewell to them all and looked forward to the Aussie Summer holidays !

Christmas is coming.....

For what will probably be the last time (if Ethan's body language is anything to go by....) we took both kids to see Santa at David Jones early on Saturday. Aidan wasn't too keen at first, but he wanted to make sure Santa heard what he wanted for Christmas and put up with it !  Doubt we'll get one of these annual snaps with both boys but we may still persuade Aidan in 2012.

Tree Climb

Last Sunday we got up and out early on a drizzly morning to go and climb trees in the Dandenong ranges.... As you can see from the photos we had some fun and the kids got fully roped in. Ethan loved it but Aidan was a little scared.  You can get up as high as about 50ft off the ground so its a little hair raising if you're brave enough to go that far. All good fun.

Foo Fighter Friday

Last Friday finally arrived !  Yes, after buying the tickets 6 months ago, the Foo's arrived in Melbourne as part of their current Australia tour...... Just like 2 or 3 years ago, they were completely awesome (dude). They played for 2.5hrs as the sun set over Melbourne and for the first time in front of 30,000 fans at the AAMI stadium rather than the Rod Laver Arena.  Fantastic.
