Auskick

Today, May 1st 2010, was a momentous day in my eldest boy's Aussie life as he attended his first "Auskick". Auskick is a national footie programme to get kids into Aussie Rules Football and is basically almost like national service - you just have to do it. As proud parents we watched as Ethan ran around with all of the other kids trying to sus out a game which is a bit more complex than Football (Soccer). This now joins his swimming lessons and tennis lessons in an attempt to make an athlete of him yet !! There are a few more pictures here.

A couple of points which I feel as his Godfather I'm entitled to point out:-
The black and white is fine but there appears to be a red stripe on his top as well.
Isn't Aussie rules for those who can't play or understand football? Yes, our football. We don't carry the ball (should be round) over here.
Ethan, it's not too late. Just because your Dad could run but couldn't kick a football doesn't mean you have to follow suit.

Listen for a bloke who's silky skills took him all the way to Crammy & back.... I think that's a bit rich !

You've heard that saying, "When in Aus, do as the Aussies do".

But so you rest assured, my little left footer will also be playing down the left wing for Australia one day, as long as his final delivery is better than his dads !2022 world cup, here we come!
